We make instrument libraries for Kontakt and Kontakt Player made by Native Instruments. Kontakt Player is a free sampler you can download on the official Native Instruments website. Please not that some instruments do require a full version of Kontakt. The best indicator whether or not you can use the free Kontakt Player is the sticker saying "Made for Kontakt Player" featuring on the instrument poster.

NKS and Kontakt Ready Instruments

Please follow the instructions that you can download via unique download link that was sent to you in the Order Confirmation email.

Non NKS instrument

You will receive a download link in you Order Confirmation email. Once you have downloaded your product, unzip and move it where you keep your other libraries. Load up the required version of Kontakt and click the 'Files' tab which is located on the top left side of Kontakt's interface. From here you can navigate to where you have stored your library. You can either double click, or drag the NKI file into Kontakt. You can also drag an NKI directly from a folder on your computer if this is easier.

If you have run out of download attempts, reach us at support@sonixinema.com and we will reset your donwload counter.

Unfortunately, developers have to pay a large licensing fee to include this feature within their libraries. It is hard for Boutique developers like us to afford this, and therefore some libraries that we release are only available for the full version of Kontakt, and not the free Kontakt player.

You are either opening a non-NKS instrument in a free Kontakt Player, or haven't activated your NKS instrument in the Native Access.

Some instruments we release can only be used with a Full version of Kontakt. Those instruments do not require a serial number and as long as it is the FULL version of Kontakt (NOT PLAYER), you will be able to use the instrument.

For NKS instruments, please make sure you find your Order Confirmation email and click on the Download link which will take you to your serial and instructions how to authorise your new instrument in Native Access.

We have provided a technical assistance video for each library. These can be found either on our website, or on our youtube channel linked here

Yes. If you're serious about writing music and make noise for a living, running your machines as efficiently as possible is crucial. Slow loading times of sample libraries is not uncommon thing, but you should have a good understanding of your system before you head off changing everything that you think might be the cause.

Without digging deep into your system build and quality, one thing you can make sure you are doing, is Batch Re-saving each new instrument as and when you have bought it and installed it. It's a function that runs each nki, checks all the samples and saves it. In a lot of cases this alone will speed your loading times. After you changed the location of your instrument, this should be repeated.

Please make sure you understand what you are doing. For example consider the version of your Kontakt. Say your purchased instrument says min. requirement is full version of Kontakt version 5.7.0. If you run 5.8.1, the min. version which will open your re-saved library will now be 5.8.1.

Another common mistake is to batch re-save all instruments in your dive at once. Don't do that. Once you fucked your entire collection of instruments, digging out terabytes of data and restoring is a thing that nobody enjoys doing :)

Professionally speaking, you should have a dedicated storage just for your libraries. The "read" speed of your drives has a tremendous importance here. Slow spinning drives should not even be considered i.e. 5400rpm. Not so long ago 7200rpm drives used to be most accessible and usable. Now that larger Solid State Drives became much more affordable, most professional systems will have sample libraries running off them. External multi-docks are a very common sight. But however fast your drive might be, make sure you connection can provide and support it. SSD via USB2 is an extreme example but you get the point?

To remove a Kontakt Library from you Mac computer, follow the steps below:

  1. Close Native Access
  2. Navigate to the main library folder you are looking to uninstall, and delete this entire folder. Default location: /Users/Shared/Library Name
  3. Now open Finder and head over to the 'Hidden' Library folder. The path is Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences. If you are having difficulty finding this 'Hidden' Library folder you have two routes! A. Go to Finder’s top menu, and press Option on your keyboard, you will see Library appear in the menu. B. In Finder's top menu, choose Go > Go to Folder. In the dialogue box, type: ~/Library and Click Go.
  4. Locate a file: com.native-instruments.LIBRARY-NAME.plist
  5. Delete it.
  6. Empty Trash
  7. Open Native Access to confirm you have successfully removed your instrument

To remove a Kontakt Library from you Windows computer, follow the steps below:

  1. Close Native Access
  2. Navigate to the main library folder you are looking to uninstall, and delete this entire folder. Default location: Users/your user name/Library Name
  3. Open Start Menu
  4. Type regedit and press enter
  5. In the Registry Editor which you have just opened, on the left side look for: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Native Instruments
  6. You will see folders associated with each of your installed instruments. Delete the one that you want to uninstall/remove.
  7. In the Registry Editor, on the left side look for: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Native Instruments
  8. Same as before, find a folder associated with the instrument you wish to remove and delete it.
  9. Now open Native Access to confirm the library has been deleted.

Generally if any issues such as that you must consult with Native Instruments support as they are the only ones that have access to the system. But here's what you can try whilst you wait for a reply to your support ticket.

  1. Log out from Native Access - click on the "head-and-shoulder" logo in the upper right corner. Click Log Out
  2. Quit Native Access
  3. Head over to Mac: /Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Service Center/ Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center
  4. Find and delete NativeAccess.xml
  5. Empty your trash bin
  6. Open Native Access and Log In

Good Luck!

As some libraries and sample packs are downloadable and non-returnable the refund process is not straight forward. This is common among all sample companies selling Kontakt libraries and sample packs. However, we are always keen to resolve any issues you might have, so please do not hesitate to contact us via contact form.

For Kontakt Player instruments - we agree to issue a refund if request has been received within 14 days from placing the order. However there is a 10% surcharge for serial retrievals. We always offer in-depth detailed videos and substantial demos to showcase the instrument for customers to hear before deciding to purchase. Therefore I hope you won't find the charge unreasonable.

For Full Konakt instruments, we can not offer refunds as these instruments are absolutely non-returnable by their nature.

If you have any questions, or would like to request a refund please reach out to us via support@sonixinema.com - we are always here to assist you.
